THE UNITED STATES VS. BILLIE HOLIDAY (2020)
Amanda Ghost acted as Executive Music Producer for the film The United States vs. Billie Holiday, directed by Lee Daniels and starring Andra Day.
The film follows Holiday during her career as she is targeted by the Federal Department of Narcotics with an undercover sting operation led by black Federal Agent Jimmy Fletcher, with whom she had an affair. At the 78th Golden Globe Awards, Andra Day won Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama, and was also nominated for Best Original Song (“Tigress and Tweed”). The film is now available to stream on Hulu.
MOULIN ROUGE! THE MUSICAL (2018-2020)
Unigram supervised and produced the soundtrack for Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
The musical premiered on July 10, 2018, at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston before opening on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on June 28, 2019. Directed by Alex Timbers with choreography by Sonya Tayeh, the musical has been nominated for fourteen Tony Awards including Best Director, Best Choreographer and Best Musical. The show opened in London’s West End in January 2020.
